Williams was previously senior director of business development at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals. Before that, he was senior director of business development at Millennium Pharmaceuticals.
Eiger BioPharmaceuticals, a biotech focused on antiviral therapies, announced the appointment of Paul Truex to its board of directors. Truex founded Anthera Pharmaceuticals, an anti-inflammatory products manufacturer, and Peninsula Pharmaceuticals, which was acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2005. He also worked at Versicor (acquired by Pfizer) and Eli Lilly.
Laureate Pharma, a biopharma and protein production company, announced the election of Joel Tune to its board of directors. Tune was previously VP, general manager, global drug delivery at Baxter International. Before that, he was VP, strategy and business development for Baxter.
Insulet Corporation, a manufacturer of tubing-free insulin pump technology, announced the appointment of Peter Devlin as chief commercial officer. Devlin will lead the company’s sales and marketing, business development, clinical research and customer care operations. Most recently, Devlin served as president of global strategic marketing, diabetes care, at Abbott Laboratories.
