This afternoon Senator Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell announced the completion of an agreement to reopen the government. The deal will tighten income verification for obtaining subsidized insurance, but leaves in the medical device tax.
The house is expected to vote on the extension tonight. If it passes, the bipartisan deal will fund the government through Jan. 15 and stave off the possibility of default until Feb. 7.
