Calling for an open relationship between the industry and consumers, Lynn O’Connor Vos, president and chief executive of Grey Healthcare Group, accepted the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) Woman of the Year award at the New York Hilton this afternoon.
Vos called for “total candor” from the industry in its relationships with consumers and applauded recent educational campaigns from Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson as stepping stones in helping to strengthen pharma’s public perception. She also thanked colleagues and peers for their support throughout her career.
Mick Mosebrook, executive vice president – sales, U.S. pharmaceuticals at Pfizer was the recipient of the HBA’s honorable mentor award. The award was created to honor one man in the industry who has demonstrated long-term support to the advancement of women in healthcare. Mosebrook was nominated for the award by Pat Kelly, president U.S. pharmaceuticals, vice president, Pfizer. “You will not find a candidate more committed to the development and advancement of women in the healthcare industry than Mick,” he said.
Additionally, Donna Ramer, president of StrategCations was named the HBA’s star volunteer and more than 50 industry women were honored as rising stars.
Speakers at the event included Sir Martin Sorrell, chief executive of WPP, which acquired Grey Healthcare Group earlier this year.
