Artizan Biosciences has hired biopharma veteran Dr. Bridget Martell as its new president and CEO. Martell began her pharma career at Pfizer, and served as a practicing physician at Yale for 20 years. She also previously held executive roles at Kura Oncology and Juniper Pharmaceuticals.

“We are delighted to have Dr. Martell join Artizan as she brings a proven track record of developing promising science into therapeutic products that improve patient lives,” Christy Shaffer, chairperson of Artizan’s board of directors, said in a statement. “Her bench-to-bedside experience will be extremely valuable to the company as it works to enter the clinic.”
