Henry Schein names its first chief commercial officer

Dirk Benson joins after a nearly three-decade stint with privately-held healthcare products distributor Medline Industries.

Medical device manufacturer and distributor Henry Schein has appointed Dirk Benson as VP and chief commercial officer of its North America Distribution Group (NADG), a newly-created position, the company said Tuesday.

NADG is the company’s largest business division, and Benson will be responsible for the group’s U.S. dental and medical customer-facing organization in the U.S. Benson will report to Brad Connett, CEO of NADG.

Benson joins after a 27-year career with healthcare products distributor Medline Industries, the largest privately-held U.S. manufacturer and distributor of healthcare supplies.
