As a Northwestern University undergraduate, Michelle Abtahi wanted a major that would enable her to make a difference in the world. Throughout her career she has accomplished this in various roles, most recently joining Ketchum in 2021 to focus on DE&I-specific initiatives. 

As health inequities were further exposed and exacerbated by COVID-19, Abtahi developed and launched the firm’s health equity offering, one of the first among large public relations agencies. The team consists of new and long-standing Ketchum talent with a range of backgrounds, experiences and expertise in health equity. 

Another of Abtahi’s accomplishments was managing the execution of Motrin #WomanInProgress, a communications campaign focused on uplifting women, especially women of color, which resulted in 1.1 billion impressions, and generated a 3.4% lift in product consumption.
