The Food and Drug Administration has released guidance on coronavirus vaccines. The agency outlined its conditions for approving a vaccine, saying it must prevent or decrease disease severity in at least 50% of people who are vaccinated. (Reuters)

Inovio has claimed there were positive results from its COVID-19 vaccine study, but has not released data yet. The company said the vaccine created “immunological response rates” in 34 of 36 trial participants. (STAT)
A large study has found an HIV medication showed no benefit for coronavirus patients. The trial was testing Kaletra, an HIV antiviral medicine made by AbbVie. Researchers determined the drug was no better than usual care alone in preventing death among hospitalized patients. (BioPharma Dive)
