Contract sales firm PDI has appointed Richard Micali to senior vice president of sales services, effective immediately. Micali most recently served as vice president, sales, at Bristol-Myers Squibb, and led BMS’s US national sales force on Eribitux, a biologic cancer product.
Biopharma Gilead Sciences has announced the promotion of Andrew Cheng to the newly created role of senior vice president, development operations. Cheng will join Gilead’s executive committee, and will report to Norbert Bischofberger, EVP Research and Development, and chief scientific officer.
Merck appointed D. Gary Gilliland, a cancer scientist and researcher at Harvard, to SVP of Merck Research Laboratories (MRL), and head of the company’s oncology franchise. Gilliland will begin his role with Merck on March 2, reporting to Peter Kim, president of MRL.
