Generic and specialty pharma Mylan “parted ways” with its chief financial officer Jolene Varney, marking the second CFO to leave the company this year. Ed Brokowski left the company in March. Varney held the position for just three months. According to a release, Mylan is using the executive recruiting firm Korn/Ferry International to find a new CFO.

The White House Office of National Drug Control Policy tapped Murray Kopelow, chief executive of the ACCME, as a special advisor to help the office formulate long-term drug control policies, according to a release.

Health and science communications shop Spectrum added two new employees to its Washington DC office: Michael Cover was hired as SVP and practice leader for disease management; and Kevin Walsh was hired as VP, digital strategy. Cover was previously SVP at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. Walsh was most recently director for online strategy at LensWorld.com.
