Porter Novelli announced the appointment of Barbara DeBuono to chief medical officer, global director of public health and social marketing. She will report to Julie Winskie, president, Americas, and chief client officer. DuBuono, an adjunct professor at The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services, was formerly executive director, public health and government at Pfizer.
Synergy Pharmaceuticals, a biopharma focused on gastrointestinal disorders and diseases, appointed Alan Joslyn to its board of directors, as chairman of the corporate governance/nominating committee. Joslyn is currently CEO at Edusa Pharmaceuticals. Prior to Edusa, Joslyn served as president and CEO at Mt. Cook Pharma, SVP, research and development at Penwest Pharmaceuticals, and has held leadership roles in product development at Johnson & Johnson.
