Reckitt Benkiser is no longer interested in Merck’s over-the-counter business. PM Live says reports indicate Merck may have wanted more than Reckitt was willing to spend for a portfolio of goods that includes items such as Coppertone sunscreen.
PM Live notes that the UK company was not the only interested bidder, and Bayer has also expressed an interest in taking on Merck’s OTC unit.
