Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has written to Pfizer requesting details about payments the company made to 149 Harvard Medical School faculty members and doctors. A Pfizer spokesperson told the New York Times that the company “will fully cooperate with Senator Grassley’s request for information.”
Vertex Pharmaceuticals has acquired Canadian drugmaker ViroChem Pharma for $100 million in cash, and 9.9 million shares of Vertex common stock. The acquisition adds two early-stage hepatitis C drugs to the company’s portfolio, VCH-222 and VCH-759.
