Eversana recently picked up Italy-based Healthware Group in an acquisition that will expand the company’s European operations.

The 2023 MM+M Agency 100 honoree announced the deal earlier this week but did not disclose the financial details of the purchase.

Healthware, which is headquartered in Salerno, Italy, is a full-service agency and consultancy. Healthware will be integrated into the global agency network Eversana Intouch as part of the merger, which builds upon the two companies’ existing partnership that started as a joint venture agreement in 2017.

Eversana CEO Jim Lang noted in a statement that the move would bolster Eversana’s full commercial ecosystem by adding Healthware’s “global agency powerhouse.”

“Today’s announcement is the next remarkable step in our journey to reinvent commercialization by effectively integrating what we believe to be the best service providers around the world,” Lang stated. “Gone are the days of siloed, ineffective operations or regional strategies. Our clients need global strategy and integrated commercial services balanced with the right in-market expertise.”

Healthware brings 150 employees to Eversana, as well as its expertise in advisory, customer engagement, med comms and media services. Eversana Intouch CEO and chief innovation officer Faruk Capan will lead the integrated agency network by leveraging its combined roots in digital innovation in order to advance AI in marketing, according to the press release.

Eversana will now also own Healthware’s global events, namely the Frontiers Health conference.

Healthware CEO Roberto Ascione will also join the Eversana global leadership team, effective immediately. Ascione noted in a statement that the new integrated agency will include an expanded set of commercialization services that he said will help lead the transformation of the life sciences industry.

“Our companies share a common culture and vision, and together, we are already leveraging the power of digital and technology solutions to deliver global brand impact and transform stakeholder engagement and patient care,” Ascione added. “With this merger, we will become a formidable force in the market, providing services well beyond a traditional agency network.”

The news comes just about a month after Eversana launched a new omnichannel tool, Orchestrate, that uses AI and machine learning (ML) to synthesize data to help boost pharma brand impact.

In September, Eversana also brought on Ryan Sparks as its new chief information officer, who joined from The Headstrong Project.

According to the MM+M Agency 100 2023 revenue chart, Eversana saw a 20% increase in revenue from $325 million in 2021 to $390 million in 2022.
