Andrew Hurd is the new CEO and president of medical information platform developer Epocrates, the company announced in a statement Tuesday. Hurd takes office immediately, concluding a search that began in November after Rose Crane stepped down from her CEO post. Crane was appointed CEO in 2009 and was replaced by Peter Brandt who stepped in on an interim basis while the company sought her replacement. Brandt will now be the vice chairman of the board of directors, a new position. Hurd was previously chair and CEO of health IT firm Carefx. He has also held senior positions at WebMD, CenterBeam and QuadraMed.

Lisa Stockman has been appointed the first managing director of healthcare PR network Chandler Chicco Companies. Stockman has been with Chandler Chicco since it started and will report directly to Bob Chandler. Jeanine O’Kane will replace Stockman as managing director of Biosector 2 New York. O’Kane joins from MSL Group, where she ran the Healthcare Group for North America. She also served as director for the New York healthcare practice and EVP at Ogilvy Public Relations.
