AstraZeneca subsidiary MedImmune is shuttering its Mountain View and Santa Clara, CA shops. The company said Monday it’s part of an overall effort to restructure its infectious disease and vaccines research efforts, and it expects the changes to occur over the next two years. The San Francisco Business Times reported 40 jobs will move to the Hayward, CA location and 60 others will be moved to other sites, accounting for 100 of the 300 jobs that will be lost.
Waggener Edstrom upped the number of execs in its Boston location. The healthcare division has added marketing and strategy expert Seth Levine as VP and PR/Communications pro Jennifer Baird as senior account executive. Levine’s resume includes Shire, Partners HealthCare, GSK and Siemens. Baird joins the company after working as the PR and digital marketing lead for Parexel International.
