Healthcare lobbying group Cura Strategies has launched Advocacy Accelerator, an online platform to help advocates learn from its team of government relations professionals.

Launched on April 10, the Advocacy Accelerator offers healthcare-specific resources for government relations professionals and volunteer advocates through virtual training, free resources and community-building opportunities, according to the agency.

The platform’s flagship training program, Advocacy Academy, is a virtual course that teaches advocates and volunteers the basics of advocacy, providing the groundwork needed to prepare advocates for Capitol Hill, the agency said in a statement. The program is one of two training courses offered.

Beta launched in fall 2023 to seven corporate and nonprofit partners, including WomenHeart, an organization dedicated to serving women with heart disease; biopharmaceutical company Travere Therapeutics; and heart disease nonprofit Mended Hearts. The course leverages social and traditional media and storytelling to impact change when engaging with Congress.

Additional offerings for the platform include a free, four-part educational course called The Art of Advocacy, downloadable resources from stakeholder mapping process guide to Cura’s Capitol Corner newsletter and network opportunities for professional healthcare advocates.

Cura brought on Matthew Simmons as SVP of public affairs in March. The healthcare communications and public affairs consulting firm is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.
