Employers are lining up to offer workers healthcare plans that do not meet healthcare reform’s definition of value and affordability. Kaiser Health News reports that the National Business Group on Health released a survey Wednesday that showed 16% of employers plan on offering lower-benefits coverage for 2015 and at least one plan that does meet the ACA’s requirements.

Kaiser Health News explains that these “skinny plans” allow workers and employers to avoid insurance penalties, but stretch coverage thin, such as covering only preventive care. It also means these workers cannot get subsidized coverage, even if they opt out of the offered plan.
