Murphy’s career in health and wellness marketing didn’t start the way most such careers do. Her professional path began with a stint as an auditor at Ernst & Young (then Ernst & Whinney) and a stay at Goldman Sachs.
But once she joined Havas, Murphy was in for good. Initially tasked with acquiring agencies and meshing the company’s France and North America offices, Murphy now serves as global CEO. In that role, she leads 4,000 employees across 65 offices in 50 countries.
Last year, she embarked on one of her most ambitious efforts to date: Overseeing the merger of Havas Health agencies with Havas’ consumer health comms practices to create Havas Health & You. This involved a shift in mindset as well, from a traditional sales model to one focused on customer experience.
While Murphy has long been renowned for client work, under her leadership Havas recently launched a pair of talent initiatives. Re-tern is designed to help older workers navigate a challenging job market, while the Havas Fellows Program hires recent college graduates as paid interns, offering training and career direction along the way.
