Galderma is laying off employees. The Dallas/Fort Worth Healthcare Daily reported the layoffs Dec. 9, quoting a company statement that the layoffs are part of a reorganization that will have an impact on the Fort Worth headquarters and other US locations.

The change follows president Francois Fournier’s October departure, but the Star-Telegram’s Tarrant Business blog reports that the drug company says the layoffs and the president’s resignation are not connected.

Novartis is also cutting staff. The Globe and Mail reports that the company will shutter its Mississauga, Ontario, plant next year and will scuttle 300 manufacturing jobs along with the closure.
