Blue Cross of Idaho has hired Reagan Greene as VP of brand, marketing and communications.

The new role follows 15 years at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, most recently as VP of marketing and community engagement.

“I am a North Carolina native and after 15 years, am just ready for a new challenge,” said Greene, who will continue to reside in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Asked about the biggest difference between healthcare in North Carolina and Idaho, Greene pointed to Idaho’s high suicide rate. Idaho has the 12th-highest suicide rate in the country, while North Carolina has the ninth-lowest, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Behavioral health is a real focus for the organization, and so I feel like with nearly 600,000 members, we have an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the state of Idaho,” said Greene.

At the time, Greene said she had not yet started work on campaigns for Blue Cross of Idaho but was working to gain an understanding of the organization’s business strategy and priorities.

“The landscape in North Carolina is very different than Idaho from a sports marketing perspective, from a marketing activation perspective, from a community and nonprofit perspective,” she said. “[I’m working to get] up-to-speed on all of those things so that we can determine what our next steps are on new campaigns and evolving existing campaigns.”
