Former FDA commissioner Dr. Lester Crawford, who has worked at aWashington lobbying firm since resigning from the agency in 2005, joinedthe board of Bexion Pharmaceuticals. Confirmed as commissionerin July 2005, Crawford suddenly resigned from the agency just two monthsinto the role. He later pleaded guilty to lying and violatingconflict-of-interest laws.
Device firm OraSure Technologies hired Tony Zezzo as EVP of marketing and sales. He has almost 30 years experience in the diagnostics industry, most recently as VP, North America sales and marketing, Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics.
Ziopharm Oncology hired Dr. Mark Thornton as VP, chief development officer. He is returning to the company after a stint as medical officer for the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research.
