The Society for Academic CME is holding its first Summer Leadership Institute: Leadership Development for Leaders in CME, in July, at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The Institute is aimed at helping assistant/associate deans and CME program directors to hone planning, media, interpersonal and other leadership skills.
The National Commission for Certification of CME Professionals has developed a practice test to help individuals prepare for its national certification exam. The test, available at www.NCCME.org/PracticeExam, consists of 45 questions and costs $45.
The ACCME released data on the number of accredited providers that restructured to comply with its redefinition of a commercial interest. In 2008 and 2009, ACCME said it reviewed 30 accredited providers and found that 17 would be considered commercial interests. Of those, 14 restructured and retained accreditation; three withdrew from accreditation.
Epocrates announced enhancements and functionality to its DocAlert messaging service: linking from alerts to features such as mobile detailing; follow-up emails now viewable on device with visuals like graphs and charts; and improved readability.
