Calcium + Company

With $44.5 million in revenue last year, Calcium + Company’s mission is to nourish companies and brands across their full lifecycle. It has expanded offerings with new divisions: Calcium, which focuses on brand advertising; Vitamin MD, specializing in medical communications; PRotein, for public relations; and Amino, its new oncology marketing division.

With offices in Philadelphia, New York, Miami and San Francisco and 129 employees, Calcium continues to set itself apart with outstanding work and a supportive agency culture.

Clients include Bristol Myers Squibb, Blueprint Medicines, Eggland’s Best, Sumitomo Pharma Oncology, Veradigm and Genentech.

In 2022, Calcium made headlines with the launch of Avion’s Dhivy (carbidopa/levodopa), providing a new dosing option for people with Parkinson’s disease. The agency’s DE&I Council — a coalition of Calcium employees dedicated to advancing DE&I efforts within the agency — debuted the groundbreaking I Don’t Have a Box campaign. Created to bring attention to the racial and ethnic weakness found on many institutional data collection forms, including those of the National Census Bureau, this effort includes an educational hub to drive awareness and provide audiences with resources to help drive greater racial and ethnic inclusion and constructive societal change.

The agency also distinguishes itself with enthusiastic community work, including the Great American Milk Drive, where the firm helps to provide more than 200,000 gallons to those in need, and Haven Kids Rock, a music program that empowers underserved youth in New York.

With U.S. revenue of $151 million, Merge has tripled in size over the past three years through acquisitions and organic growth, making it big enough to challenge the large agency brands. And it’s done so by bringing together new combinations of service offerings that merge storytelling and technology. Longstanding client relationships include Abbott Laboratories, T-Mobile and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
