The Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association named Cardinal Health pharma segment chief Michael Kaufmann as its 2012 Honorable Mentor of the year. Kaufmann joined Cardinal health in 1990 and in 2009 became executive sponsor of the company’s Women’s Initiative Network, an employee resource group. The HBA last week named Ernst & Young pharma lead Carolyn Buck Luce as its 2012 Woman of the Year.
PhRMA named three new members to its board of directors: GSK North America Pharmaceuticals President Deirdre Connelly; Boehringer Ingelheim USA President and CEO Paul Fonteyene and Lundbeck President and CEO Ulf Wiinberg. Connelly is a past president of Lilly USA and HBA Woman of the Year, while Fonteyne previously chaired the National Pharmaceutical Council and Wiinberg chairs the World Self-Medication Industry Association and serves on the board of the European Federation for Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations as well as the Council of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations.
Michelle Keefe is moving from the non-profit Visiting Nurse Services of New York to become the chief operating officer of Publicis Touchpoint Solutions, a healthcare messaging company. Keefe was vice president of business development at the Visiting Nurse Services. Before that, she worked at Pfizer in several capacities, including Midwest regional president, vice president of the Pratt division and director of division operations at Pfizer Labs.
