Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics’ contest soliciting user-generated content (UGC) from Web-savvy filmmakers continued to gain momentum during the month of October.

The “FluFlix Video Contest” posted on YouTube during September and October had garnered 32 entries at presstime on October 10.

The final deadline for submissions was 11:59 pm PST on October 26.

For the contest Novartis asked consumers to create their own Web videos detailing how influenza can affect everyday life.

The winner in each of three contest categories—kids and the flu, sports and the flu and workplace and the flu—was promised a $500 prize.

Contest winners are scheduled to be unveiled November 19.

For the 2007-2008 flu season, Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics planned to ship over 60 million doses of the flu vaccine Fluvirin to the US.
