Pharma dodges bullet on FDA Amendments Act of 2007
Pharmas dodged a bullet as President George W. Bush signed an FDA Amendments Act of 2007 stripped of several restrictions on consumer advertising on Sept. 27. Earlier versions of the legislation would have imposed a moratorium on advertising for new drugs, required FDA pre-approval of ads and forced advertisers to include symbols and warnings about the drug's status.
