Darrell Wakefield has a 25-plus-year track record in pharma as a leader focused on promoting innovation and diversity. Among his signature programs were the Novartis multichannel marketing grassroots initiatives Live Life Beautiful for metastatic breast cancer patients and Be Sickle Smart for patients suffering from Sickle Cell Anemia. While at Leo Pharma he launched the brand Picato, fueled by a campaign that achieved viral success called Listen to Your Skin, featuring a strategic partnership with the American Academy of Dermatology.
Today, Wakefield continues to demonstrate a unique ability to pivot, adapt and build high-performing teams at Sanofi Genzyme, where he manages a team of 70 employees, supported by two brands – one of which is a novel new compound in development for breast cancer.
