Michael Byrnes was the fifth employee when he joined InStep Media back in 2002, then called Leverage Media. Over the next 20 years, he’s built a sales team that has brought 70-plus pharmaceutical manufacturers and 200-plus pharmaceutical brands to InStep Health’s pharmacy and physician office media offerings. Since day one, he has been a pioneer for vocalizing the relevance of retail pharmacy. He has long evangelized pharmacists’ unique ability to steward the healthcare choices of the local community they serve. While the COVID pandemic helped the public see the pharmacy as more than a retail environment, experts such as Byrnes have advocated its potential as a primary healthcare destination for more than a decade.

On top of his work within the industry, Byrnes finds time to devote himself to charitable work by regularly volunteering with his local chapters of the American Red Cross and the Ronald McDonald House.
