German med device and drug manufacturer B. Braun announced today that it has purchased 21.5 acres from Lehigh University for plans for a new “state-of-the-art” headquarters campus, to be based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania—coincidentally where their current headquarters is also situated. Bruce Heugel, senior vice president and CFO of B Braun, said in a release: “The headquarters campus..underscores the sustained commitment and investment B Braun has made in the Lehigh Valley and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.” The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry's Center for Workforce Information & Analysis ranks B Braun as the 11th largest employer in Lehigh County as of October 15, 2013.
