Kocak will be responsible for evaluating and developing commercial strategies around the company’s evolving pain and autoimmune pipeline and managing the company’s marketing efforts. Kocak most recently served as marketing director for Pfizer’s Geodon US psychosis team. In this position, Kocak oversaw the development and implementation of business strategies for Geodon, a drug for the treatment of schizophrenia. During her tenure, sales of Geodon grew by over 30%, and Geodon is now the fastest-growing antipsychotic drug. Prior, Kocak served as marketing director, for Inspra’s US team at Pfizer, and led the US launch of Inspra for the treatment of patients who develop heart failure following a heart attack. Specialty pharmaceutical firm Alpharma has hired Stefan Aigner as EVP, corporate and business development. Prior to joining Alpharma, Aigner was co-founder and EVP of business development at Reliant Pharmaceuticals.King Pharmaceuticals said its board of directors has appointed Brian Markison to succeed Ted Wood as the chairman of the board. The appointment will be effective at the close of the company’s May 2007 annual meeting of shareholders. Wood will remain a member of King’s board and will serve as lead independent director. Markison will continue as King’s president and CEO.Allergan appointed Deborah Dunsire to the company’s board of directors. Dunsire, president and chief executive officer of Cambridge, MA-based Millenium Pharmaceuticals will initially serve as a member of the corporate governance committee and the science and technology committee. Dunsire joined Millenium Pharmaceuticals in July 2005. She previously led the Novartis US oncology business, and is currently a board member at PhRMA.
