Judge slaps Boehringer with $931K fine
Boehringer is being fined $931,000 for failing to keep track of its Pradaxa documents. Pharmalot reports that a federal court judge said the company offered little more than excuses for how documents about the blood thinner went missing and said the wrongs, which affect the more than 1,700 lawsuits he is overseeing, “are egregious.”
The judge says the company allowed records to be destroyed and even interfered with backup support, as well as disabling programs that would have preserved text messages and phone interactions on company devices.
Boehringer is being sued over allegations that it hid risks associated with the anticoagulant.
