Generics and branded drugmaker Teva took a swing and won against painkiller company Purdue Pharma.
Bloomberg reports that Purdue, whose name is synonymous with Oxycontin, lost a legal battle in which it asserted that Teva’s generic violated multiple patents.
US District Judge Sidney Stein agreed that Teva overstepped three patents, but said the “obvious” nature of the patents meant he was not going to hold the company liable.
Purdue told Bloomberg it will appeal the decision.
