Hwang Woo Suk, the Korean scientist who is alleged to have faked research on the cloning of human embryos in two papers published in the journal Science in 2004 and 2005, has been dismissed from his post at Seoul National University.Science has since retracted the articles. The school decided to fire Dr. Hwang following a disciplinary meeting, saying he and his co-workers caused the school to lose honor. Dr. Hwang has apologized in public for inflated data in the articles and has accused other researchers of deceiving him with falsified results.
