Microsoft acquired certain assets of Rosetta Biosoftware, a business unit of Rosetta Inpharmatics, the latter a wholly owned subsidiary of Merck. The deal bolsters Microsoft’s Amalga Life Sciences platform by integrating genetic, genomic, metabolomic and proteomics data management into the platform. Microsoft furthered partnered with Merck to enhance the Amalga Life Sciences platform to “meet emerging pharmaceutical research needs,” according to a statement.

 

Merge Healthcare, a health IT solutions provider, will acquire etrials Worldwide, a clinical trials software and services company. The combined organization will provide clinical trial sponsors and contract research organizations with solutions that include both critical imaging technologies and eClinical capabilities, according to a statement.
