MANUFACTURERS Novavax, named Penny Heaton to the newly created position of chief medical officer, effective Oct. 9. Heaton joins the company after a seven-year career at Merck’s Research Laboratories, where she served as senior director of vaccines clinical research. AGENCIES Kerry Hoyes has joined tom sheehan worldwide as an art director responsible for creative and design strategies for the firm’s clients. The Navicor Group has named Jon Angello art director. Most recently, Angello served as professional sales representative for Publicis Selling Solutions. Prior to that, he was art director for HealthAnswers Education. GSW Worldwide recently welcomed Matthew Sislowitz to its New York office. Sislowitz was named senior copywriter. Most recently Sislowitz served as copywriter for Grey Healthcare. LehmanMillet has named Michael Ouimette to lead the newly formed Account Planning department in their Newport Beach, CA, office. Since 2003 Ouimette has served as President of Torre Lazur West, San Diego. Previously, he was SVP of Client Services at Pacific Communications. SUPPLIERS Quadrant Medical Education (QME) has hired Alison Gale as director of new business development. Alison will be primarily responsible for medical education for QME and The Female Patient. Gale previously worked as a business development manager for Enable Healthcare, now the accredited division of CME Enterprise, and also has experience in advertising and media from work at Bristol Myers-Squibb and Communications Media Inc.
