Nycomed US hired Steve Andrzejewski as CEO, putting him in charge of Nycomed’s US dermatology business and distribution and commercial operations for the three marketing and sales divisions Fougera, PharmaDerm and Savage Laboratories. Andrzejewski has been working in healthcare for more than 20 years, having joined from King Pharmaceuticals, where he served as corporate head, commercial operations first and then as chief commercial officer.

Vitae Pharmaceuticals hired Christine Brennan, PhD as chief business officer. Most recently, she served as executive director and head of strategy and operations for strategic alliances at Novartis’ Institutes for BioMedical Research.

Specialty firm Taris Biomedical hired Sarma Duddu, PhD, as president, CEO and board member, effective immediately. Taris focuses on the field of drug-device convergence for targeted therapies, and Sarmu has been involved in all aspects of the drug-delivery business during a 15-year career. Most recently, he was general manager and VP of worldwide drug-delivery technologies for Cima Labs, a Cephalon unit, and prior to that served as VP of pharmaceutical development at Nektar Therapeutics.
