Search engines continue to be a primary way for US consumers to arrive at healthcare Websites, according to online intelligence firm Hitwise. 
For March 2008, websites found in the health and medical category were the leading destination of all upstream traffic from search engines and Google, Hitwise said. 
Comparing the 2008 period to the same period last year, health and medical searches were up 4% to just over 45% of total traffic from all categories. Nearly 30% of the health and medical website traffic came from Google’s search engine tool, according to Hitwise.
