Sixty percent of medical school department chairs have some form of personal relationship with industry, including serving as a consultant (27%), scientific advisory board member (27%) or paid speaker (14%). Results of the survey (JAMA vol. 298, no. 15) underscore the need for active disclosure and management of conflicts of interest, authors note.
