Communications firm CG Life rolled out a brand refresh Wednesday morning to highlight its commitment to science.

The Shaped by Science rebrand seeks to underscore the inspiration behind the agency’s work as well as how science can positively influence people’s lives.

The rebrand launch for the 2023 MM+M Agency 100 honoree features researchers and healthcare marketers discussing how they have been shaped by science.

The rebrand also includes a new website and event activations for 2024. The website speaks directly to pharma and life sciences brands, noting “our science-centered creativity can help tell your story,” and that “your innovation is shaping the next life science breakthrough.”

The website also breaks down CG Life’s brand solutions model, which includes brand development, market shaping, go-to-market planning, omnichannel activation and analytics.

“This idea of ‘shaped by science’ reflects our core commitment to ground everything we do in science,” CG Life CEO David Ormesher said in a statement. “This is what differentiates our work with our clients as they advance their critical scientific work.”

The rebrand comes after CG Life inked a strategic and investment partnership with private equity firm Shore Capital Partners at the end of 2022. The agency’s revenue rose 13% from 2021 to 2022, according to MM+M Agency 100 revenue chart, with its staff growing from 62 to 69 during the same period.

At the time of the deal with Shore, CG Life noted that the partnership would boost the agency’s growth strategy and lead to acquisitions.

“They see our science expertise and its value, which will allow us to go out and find like-minded agencies to add to our growth,” CG Life managing partner Steve Johnson told MM+M in a previous interview.

The agency also picked up Ormesher as CEO in November 2023, who joined following three decades at Closerlook, which was acquired by Fishawack Health, another 2023 MM+M Agency 100 honoree, in May 2021.

CG Life noted that the Shaped by Science brand refresh will seek to capitalize on the momentum of the new year to move science innovation from pre-clinical to commercial launch.

The rebranding push from CG Life comes months after a few other healthcare brands — namely GE HealthCare and Gilead Sciences — also embarked on what can often be a risky, expensive and slow process.
