Mobile use is rising, but a nationwide survey by Sharecare shows that most doctors aren’t using phones and tablets in clinical settings, reported MobiHealthNews. The survey showed that about 12% of doctors used iPads and 9% use another type of tablet to input data, but that the rest are going old-school using desktops, and in lesser numbers, laptops. The survey of 1,190 doctors noted that physicians rely on tablets to varying degrees, with 30% of specialty surgeons using iPads for clinical purposes, compared with 10% of primary care doctors.

Brazil, Russia, India and China, aka the BRIC countries, now account for 20% to 30% of the pharmaceutical industry’s profit. The latest tally comes from Cegedim Relationship Management, which notes that these same regions represented just 5% of the bottom line five years ago.
