Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) has announced gains in impact factor (IF)—which quantifies the relative influence of a scholarly journal in its scientific field—with 23 LLW-published titles awarded 28 spots in the top five rankings across 18 specialties. Gains in IF were seen by half of the LWW titles included in Thompson Reuter’s annual Journal Citation Reports for 2010, with 24 titles increasing IF by 25% or more.
Notable LWW journal gains include anesthesiology, which won the top-ranked position in this field, and circulation, published on behalf of the AHA, and holds the number one position in cardiac and cardiovascular systems journals.
