On Thursday, FCB Health Network announced the debut of The Trial for #ClinicalEquality, a pro bono initiative designed to highlight the profound need for racial equality in clinical trials.

“Suboptimal representation of Black and Hispanic patients in oncology trials has been a longstanding problem,” FCB Health Network chief medical officer Dr. Sommer Bazuro said in a statement. “We are hoping to leverage the attention on social justice that was reignited in 2020 to raise awareness about the issues that contribute to disparities. These include lack of access to trials, restrictive trial inclusion criteria and recruitment policies, implicit bias and patient mistrust of the healthcare system.”

The campaign features three pieces of creative, which are set to run in “major publications pro bono, to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars,” an agency spokesperson said via email.
