Healthline Media has acquired PsychCentral, adding a mental health-focused website to its roster.

The acquisition adds to Heathline’s own mental health coverage including its Mental Health Index. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Healthline expanded its coverage of mental health, creating a special mental health section to help readers take care of both mental and physical health during the public health crisis.

PsychCentral was founded in 1995 by Dr. John Grohol. After the acquisition, Grohol will stay on as a consultant. The website includes articles, quizzes and information about mental health conditions, along with tools to connect people with therapists and online support groups.

The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Healthline Media’s suite of brands includes Healthline.com; Greatist, a millennial-focused health and wellness website; and Medical News Today, focused on healthcare providers.
