Bayer has promoted Sue Ann Pentecost to VP and head of pharmaceuticals communications in the U.S.

She will report to Beth Roden, SVP and head of communications for Bayer U.S. and head of communications for Bayer Consumer Health North America. Pentecost is succeeding Lori Moore, who is set to retire at the end of May, according to a Bayer statement.

Pentecost will be responsible for developing and executing programs to advance the reputation of Bayer overall with an emphasis on the U.S. pharmaceuticals business and brands.

Bayer’s brands include Aspirin, constipation relief MiraLax and allergy treatment Claritin. Some of the company’s pharmaceutical products are erectile dysfunction treatment Levitra, chemotherapy drug Nexavar and bacterial infection treatment Avelox.

Pentecost has worked at Bayer since 2022 as head of external communications for U.S. pharmaceuticals, responsible for above-brand efforts to support business priorities. Her role expanded to include U.S. oncology communications, where she drove creative campaigns about prostate cancer, Bayer said in a statement.

Before joining Bayer, Pentecost spent 14 years at clinical research services provider PPD, most recently as executive director of marketing, according to her LinkedIn profile.

In fiscal 2023, Germany-based Bayer employed around 100,000 people and had sales of $51.2 billion.
