BBDO has tapped Jon Chapman as the first chief creative officer of BBDO Health. In his new role, Chapman will oversee the agency’s creative work in the realms of oncology, diagnostics and aesthetics.

“The idea behind BBDO Health has always been to empower patients,” said BBDO Worldwide global chief creative officer David Lubars in a statement. “Jon has a unique and highly thoughtful empathy for patients combined with the discipline of data-driven insights and analysis.”

Chapman previously spent more than a decade at Havas Lynx Group in the U.K., where he contributed to the agency’s work on Sanofi, Novartis and ViiV Healthcare brands.

According to MM+M’s 2021 Agency 100, BBDO Health generated an MM+M-estimated $34 million in 2020 revenue, up from $33.5 million the year prior. Clients have included Gilead, Allergan, CSL Behring, AstraZeneca and Takeda.
