A few months after its founding, Coefficient Health has expanded its senior leadership team by hiring Kim Varady to serve as executive creative director.

The New York-based full-service creative agency announced Varady’s appointment Tuesday morning.

Varady is an industry veteran who most recently held a creative leadership role at Klick Health, a 2022 MM+M Agency 100 honoree, where she was responsible for brands in the asthma, oncology and vaccine spaces. Before that, she worked at agencies in the Publicis and IPG networks.

In this position, she will be tasked with fostering omnichannel brand experiences based on creative borne out of science, strategy and client engagement.

“We see leaders in pharma looking for ideas that stand out in every dimension—from inspiration to powerful storytelling to holistic experience,” she stated. “And that’s why I’m excited to lead a team that delivers more integrated creative service to commercial leaders.”

Co-founding partner Dave Miller welcomed Varady in a statement announcing her hire.

“Kim makes so much sense for Coefficient Health, because we believe that people with diverse profiles help elevate the excellence of our work,” Miller stated. “With her extensive experience across therapeutic categories, creative disciplines, and unique audiences, Kim’s background is in exact alignment with that ethos. Bringing her onto the team will only help advance our ability to bring the most impactful, integrated creative solutions to our clients.”

Launched in March, Coefficient Health has a strong momentum at its back.

In addition to Miller, Coefficient Health was founded by Jyothi Chandra and Frank Nestola as part of a spin off from Flywheel Partners, where Miller and Chandra both held leadership positions. It’s important to note that the two organizations are not formally or informally affiliated.

Miller told MM+M in March that the culture of the agency should act as an attractive incentive for talent, adding “we’ve got a great core launch team; we’re not starting from zero.”

Meanwhile, like Varady, Nestola is a Klick alum, having previously served as EVP of growth at the firm.

Currently, the company has just over 30 people and assignments from the likes of Bayer Healthcare, Agilent Technologies and Gamida Cell.
