Klick Health announced the hiring of Ellen Cappellino as executive director of value, access and reimbursement, Thursday afternoon.

The 2023 MM+M Agency 100 honoree named Cappellino, an industry leader with more than 25 years of experience to utilize Klick’s clinical, creative and analytics capabilities to highlight the benefits and optimal places in treatment for therapies.

Cappellino spent many years earlier in her career in the pharma sector, working across a number of specialties and conditions, including oncology and rare disease.

She previously served as senior director of oncology access strategy at AstraZeneca, senior director of managed markets marketing at Vertex Pharmaceuticals and as a marketing director at Pfizer.

She began her career as a research pharmacist at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and also has achieved significant experience in strategic consulting and agency services.

“We are excited that Ellen has joined our growing Market Access team as we supercharge our Value, Access, and Reimbursement offering,” Holly Henry, chief medical officer at Klick, said in a statement. “She has impeccable scientific credentials and deep experience working in the value space, and she’s a wonderful complement to our existing team as we focus on providing clients everything they could want in a market access partner.”

Cappellino said she was drawn to joining Klick based on the organization’s investments and interest in artificial intelligence to uncover market insights for clients.

The hiring of Cappellino comes on the heels of a pair of other announcements at Klick in recent weeks.

One month ago, the agency unveiled a number of leadership hires for its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) hub in London.

EMEA lead Jennifer Lambert, who was assigned to the post in November 2022, is joined by Ankita Batla, January Coyle, Preeti Moseman, Tara Page, Michael Smith and Adrian Swift.

As part of those personnel moves, Klick also opened locations in Singapore to serve the Asia-Pacific region as well as Sao Paulo to serve Latin America.

Klick made the hires public one day after unveiling its ChatGPT plug-in for U.S. life sciences companies. The free plug-in allows healthcare professionals to obtain information within ChatGPT on industry payments using a national provider identifier number.

The tool is supported by Klick’s MedOcean database and brings together HCP payment data from various sources.
