Corewell Health has named Rob Zeiger as VP of communications and community relations, effective September 26.

Zeiger, reporting to Corewell Health chief marketing and consumer experience officer Jeremy Harper, is overseeing PR, social media, team member communications and community relations.

Corewell Health is the result of a merger between Spectrum Health and Beaumont Health in February. The combined entity had temporarily been operating as the BHSH System, before permanently rebranding as Corewell Health last week, according to a Beaumont statement.

Corewell Health has Michigan offices in Grand Rapids and the Detroit area.

“I’ve lived and worked in both markets — and was born and raised in Detroit — and the opportunity to return home and help this growing organization build its new identity and promote health across Michigan was irresistible,” Zeiger told PRWeek via email.

The merger agreement makes Corewell Health Michigan’s largest health care system, with 22 hospitals and more than 60,000 employees, according to Zeiger.

Zeiger most recently served as interim VP of marketing and comms at the American Egg Board. He also worked as Royal Caribbean Group’s global chief comms officer for eight years, before being replaced by Rosanna Fiske in June 2021.

Earlier in his career, Zeiger held senior comms roles at the Philadelphia Eagles, Amway and Weber Shandwick.
