Ashik Desai

EVP of business growth and analytics, ContextMedia:Health

Ashik Desai has achieved more in his early 20s than many people achieve in a lifetime. While he was a pre-med and economics student at Northwestern University, he was the first intern at ContextMedia:Health, the Chicago-headquartered company that provides a suite of products that deliver health information at the point of care. In 2013 (at age 20), he decided against medical school and joined the company as EVP of business growth and analytics.

A ContextMedia:Health representative reported that Desai has consistently doubled year-over-year revenue with sales of $26 million in 2014, $66 million in 2015, and an estimated $200 million this year.

Last year Desai helped launch, market, and commercialize three new ContextMedia:Health products — its digital exam room wallboard, patient Wi-Fi, and the infusion room tablet.

His team, which he has grown from four in 2014 to more than 50, is on track to sell more than 100,000 devices this year.

Thanks to Desai’s sales and marketing efforts, ContextMedia:Health’s client roster now tops 100 brands from more than 40 leading global pharma companies.

Judges applauded his meteoric rise, his exceptional leadership ability, and his boundless potential.

“It’s amazing how much Ashik has accomplished,” one judge said. “Sales growth and the amount by which he has grown his team were standouts.”
