Becky Lauer spent the first 20 years of her career as a producer for CBS’ most trusted programs, including The CBS Evening News with Dan Rather. She made the bold move to switch careers at the age of 40, becoming one of the first journalists on the healthcare agency side. With an impeccable ability to translate complex science for consumer audiences, Lauer has driven life-changing information — including the first treatments for HIV and hepatitis C, CAR T-cell cancer therapies and advances in Alzheimer’s research — forward for decades, transporting essential information from the laboratory to the living rooms of the patients who need it most.

Becky built GCI’s media department from the ground up, teaching a generation of communicators the skills needed to craft front-page narratives that illuminate the human side of healthcare. Her modern strategies reflect a seamless interconnectedness between traditional and emerging platforms, from the rise of Twitter and podcasting to healthcare in gaming platforms.
